AVMBA Fall Festival

Returning for the second year the AVMBA fall festival will be held this season on the October 29/30 weekend, so mark your calendars! This is our largest fundraiser of the year so tell all your friends!!

Lots going on so just a heads up that this will be a long post.

Details below...

October 29th
Events on Saturday will be held at the Kentville Participark aka "The Gorge". Meet for both events at the main parking lot; behind the apartment buildings; at the end of Gladys Porter Drive in Kentville.

10:00 - 2:00 Trail building clinic: We will cover building bridges using natural materials. Topics include stripping bark, cutting slats for decking, cross hatching and bridge assembly.

Following (time permitting), we will do some dirt work and construct a series of banked turns. aka berms!

Long pants and gloves are recommended. We will have some extra tools on site but if you wish to bring along some (such as a shovel, bucket, hammer, draw knife, rake or mcleod) that would be great.

**We will be using chain saws during this clinic. If you wish to run a saw, proper safety gear will be required.

2:30 - 4:30 Guided ride: Fall is a fantastic time to head for a spin, so come on out! We'll be riding the loop from this years xc race along with a few other local trails.

This will be an intermediate level ride, on technical trail. Pace will be mellow. Helmets will be mandatory, some spares will be available if needed. We suggest bringing along some water and snacks too.

Some of us will be headed downtown after the ride to one of the local pubs for a post ride feast, join in! (location still to be confirmed)
